Ben Kweller - Thirteen
The first time I heard this song was when I saw him live freshman year of college at Headliners. It was so wonderful that I cried (something about the piano and harmonica combo got to me.)
I almost did too when I saw him when I was living in Chicago. I also have a distinct memory of listening to it driving home from Chicago. John was driving my car and we were listening to this song (I think Michelle was half asleep or sleeping in the back seat). Immediately after it ended he looked at me with that look and asked, “do you mind if we play it again?” Sorry, my bourbon is making me nostalgic.
I am wearing a ben kweller t-shirt right now. I have had a few moderately sarcastic comments about it, I am far from ashamed. the dude rules and writes awesome songs. PCTHKSGVNG2011 fuckit.
